On Friday January 27th, on the occasion of the ordinary assembly of the coop’s members the balance statement of the year closed on August 31 2011 was approved. During the same meeting, the members renewed the Board of Directors. These were two important moments for the winery which continues its trend of growth despite the current adverse economic conditions. Just to give a couple of numbers, there was a +9% growth of bottle sales revenue, while unbottled wine grew in revenue by 19%. In other words, the effects of the restyling, of the rationalization of the products lines, divided, today, in a line reserved for the HoReCa channel and another dedicated to mass market distribution, together with the strengthening of the internal regulations the members have agreed to follow, not only during the grape harvest, but throughout the year, are repaying the efforts made. In fact, in parallel, there’s also a growth of the liquidation of the Docg Morellino di Scansano grapes, for which members received 7 euros/ Babo degree (1,36€/kg circa).
On the wake of these results, the election of the Board of Directors also took place, confirming, by and large, the board members who have just finished their mandate, but with some renewal. In particular, some younger members have now entered the board, a sign that we’re moving along the current path, with the idea of strengthening the recent positive results, but at the same time, we’re looking into the future, preparing the new generations who will be, in fact, the winery’s future. All this, still under the presidency of Benedetto Grechi, who was confirmed by the just elected board.
